Lahir Dan Melebur

Lahir Dan Melebur

This painting depicts the essence of humanity’s connection with the Divine from birth. The cord is never severed, and every individual, like a newborn baby, remains in deep contemplation with God. This moment occurs in silence, without words, embodying a pure, divine connection. However, the cord is severed at a certain point in life, when a person reaches the age of maturity in Islam and begins to rely on reason. This process symbolizes the confinement of the soul, trapped within the body. In the painting, the head encased in a cage represents the intellect, desires, and attributes beyond the true self. The hands holding an object symbolize humanity’s efforts to find a grasp or anchor during their journey in this world. They seek teachers and knowledge as a means of returning to oneness. Death brings liberation, where the individual reunites with the Divine. This core idea serves as an answer to fundamental questions about the meaning of life and the purpose of human existence. Our ancestors understood this concept thousands of years ago, but this knowledge was severed during the colonial era and remains fragmented to this day.
