I Can
In this artwork, I want to convey that the stereotype of cats afraid of water is not entirely true. Some cat breeds are not scared of water and are even skilled swimmers, such as the Turkish Van, Bengal, Savannah, American Bobtails, Japanese Bobtails, and Manx. Some regular cat breeds enjoy playing with water, like my Javanese cat, who asks to be placed in water and bathed or plays with its paws in the fish tank. So, cats’ fear of water doesn’t necessarily mean they are terrified, but it could be because they want to maintain their body warmth and preserve the scent on their fur, which is part of their identity, and other factors. Cat owners should not use the fear of water as an excuse to avoid bathing their cats. Keeping them clean is essential for their health and affects the owner’s well-being. A dirty cat with germs can pose health risks to the cat and its owner.
