Faces
This artwork is the result of my observations of the people around me, particularly focusing on the expressions they display in various situations. It explores how we, as outsiders, try to interpret each expression we observe in others. The work reflects on how our perspectives shape the way we perceive different expressions in certain situations and atmospheres. Not all expressions we see can be accurately understood or aligned with the true feelings and thoughts of the person expressing them. From these expressions, we can conclude that each of us has a "gray area" — no one is entirely good, and no one is entirely bad. In terms of the form of the artwork, I chose fabric and thread, using embroidery as a medium for meditation and reflection, allowing me to think more deeply about the work. I often use the number 9 in my creations, as it represents the highest number. In this piece, we as humans should carry just enough expression, like the value of the number 9, so that we maintain a balance and avoid excess.
