The Vulture

This artwork is inspired by the story of Jatayu and Sampati (Vanaras, a race of eagle-like birds). When they were young, Jatayu and Sampati had a sort of competition to see who could reach the sun first, believing that the winner would be the greatest. They began flying toward the sun, but even before reaching it, the heat became unbearable. Realizing the danger, Sampati tried to stop Jatayu. However, Jatayu, feeling young and invincible, ignored the warning. In the end, Jatayu's recklessness led to an accident, putting him in grave danger. Seeing this, Sampati attempted to save his younger brother. He spread his wings wide and pushed Jatayu back, away from the sun. Jatayu was saved, but the two were separated. Sampati, burned by the sun, fell back to Earth and lost his ability to fly.
