The Strawberry Gospel

In The Strawberry Gospel: The Offering, I explore three phases of a woman: her past, her present, and her becoming. These selves coexist within her, carrying memories, awakenings, and the possibilities she is learning to embrace.

The strawberry holds a central place in my personal symbolism. Sweet, fragile, and perishable, it embodies love, beauty, and fleeting happiness. Its tenderness is not weakness; its impermanence makes it precious. Bare, she faces the world without apology. Her femininity is no longer something to conceal, fear, or question. What once made her hesitant has become the very source of her power. She inhabits her body, her longing, and her womanhood fully.

As she opens herself to the world, she offers what has grown within her: experience, desire, imagination, potential, and love. These offerings emerge from the freedom to acknowledge who she is—not by denying vulnerability or limitation, but by refusing to let them define the boundaries of her becoming. She answers her calling, and in doing so, extends an invitation to other women still standing at the threshold of their own.
