Tabula, Among The Lost
“Mind”, as the central control of the human body, based on logic and rationality, always seeks to maintain the stability of one’s self through the curation of reason and our five senses. However, it also contains ego and ambition, which is not uncommon to close some critical possibilities that are more spiritual. After all, they are considered ‘irrational’ and ‘illogical’. In this “Tabula” series titled “Among the Lost”, I explore the theme of “The Absence of Mind”. In the previous works, “Mind” has been represented through red and blue ink lines. Now, these lines have taken form and merged with gypsum. One can finally discover one’s true self by embodying and uniting the mind with the body and soul. Although not everyone reaches this point, the absence of mind can also lead to a loss of awareness and reason, causing them to become even more lost. The brass plates in this work represent individuals who have passed through this phase and successfully found the light of their true selves.
