Inspired by Yggdrasil in Norse mythology, I present a giant tree as a symbol of provider, protector, and sustainer of life within a fantasy world. Blending Renaissance aesthetics with perspective techniques that emphasize grandeur, the work "Liquorice" employs a low-angle viewpoint to create a majestic, captivating forest landscape inhabited by mythological creatures.
In this piece, I portray the intimacy between humans and legendary beings through a scene of a baby dragon playfully interacting with women harvesting grass. Drawing inspiration from my personal experience with a cat reacting aggressively to the roots of a Liquorice plant, the scene fuses warmth, harmony, and magnificence, evoking the cycles of life beautifully intertwined within a magical universe.
