Hunting #2
The hunting of lobsters and swimming crabs is a livelihood for some coastal communities. This is because these marine products have high market value and are highly sought after in the global market. However, since lobsters grow slowly, it takes years to harvest fully-grown lobsters ready for consumption. As a result, this makes the price of sea lobsters relatively expensive. As for swimming crabs, fishermen usually use salted fish as bait in their traps. Swimming crabs differ from regular crabs as they have a slimmer body, longer claws, and attractive colors on their shells. Swimming crabs live exclusively in saltwater environments and cannot survive without water. When prices are favorable, collectors pay a high price, but during harvest season, prices can plummet drastically.

Though self-taught, I was mentored by a local artist after a missed opportunity at ISI Yogyakarta, leading to my first exhibition in 2020. I primarily use charcoal and acrylic, with a focus on fishermen's lives in my recent work. My goal...
