Breath of Fire

Inspirations can come from anywhere. This piece was born while listening to Sama Kenyang by Dendang Kampungan. The song’s message about equality sparked my curiosity and brought back a part of me that had almost been forgotten. It helped me break free from the spiraling thoughts that had been blocking my artistic abilities. I began revisiting my old sketches and giving them a fresh touch to bring them to life. The lyric “Sama seiring, sama sejalan”—meaning that doing good things together with good intentions will lead to positive outcomes—became the central theme of this artwork.
