The Birth Of Watugangga

The Birth Of Watugangga

$2,900.00

Watugangga is the son of Hanuman. In Indonesian and Balinese versions, this story is very popular. It is told that Trijata managed to cross the sea with the help of a giant turtle towards Rama's camp. The purpose was for Trijata to verify whether it was true that Rama and Lakshmana had been killed by Ravana. It turned out that the news was false. When Trijata wanted to return to Lanka, she asked Hanuman to fly her back through the air. Hanuman and Trijata secretly fell in love. During the journey, Hanuman's kama (semen) fell and was swallowed by a fish, which was known to be the incarnation of Goddess Sigarkara, a goddess cursed by the gods due to a mistake. From this seed, Watugangga was born.
