The Indonesian kebaya has undergone a shift in meaning, from a simple everyday garment to a symbol of national identity and a fashion statement. Modernization has influenced its design and materials, reflecting cultural transformation. In this artwork, I painted falling rose petals as a metaphor for change and loss, illustrating the gradual shift of the kebaya’s role as it slowly loses its place in daily life.
