Human Behind The Relocation Of Mount Merapi
The conflict over the relocation of Mount Merapi involves three key figures: Sapartana (right), Jayakusuma (center), and Swarta (left). Sapartana, along with the spirits of the chiefs sacrificed at Mount Merapi, opposes the relocation of the mountain. On the other hand, Swarta supports moving Mount Merapi because its position at the edge of Java Island causes the island to tilt. Jayakusuma acts as the mediator in the conflict between Sapartana and Swarta. (The story is a myth passed down through generations about Mount Merapi, and the names mentioned above are not real; the painter created them).
