This Is My Territory
In this artwork titled "This Is My Territory," I aim to convey that cats are territorial animals, meaning they have specific boundaries within their domain. The depiction of an environment with mushroom houses symbolizes a territory that is not very large or only covers a particular area. Cats sometimes urinate indiscriminately, but this is how they mark their territory. The size of a cat's territory is influenced by age; as cats mature, they become more active and expand their roaming range. As a result, when another cat enters their territory, it often leads to a fight. This behavior is also related to other instincts, such as issues with food or finding mates. Like the author's cat, it immediately tries to defend its territory by fighting when it encounters a cat far from home. However, when cats live with other cats within the same territory, they can coexist peacefully and even play together. This artwork hopes to raise awareness among cat owners to protect their pets from stray cats, as fights can result in serious injuries. Additionally, it's essential to meet their needs, such as not cutting their claws too short. Cats need their claws to defend or fight back when facing an enemy. It also helps to keep them in a cage at night, as cats tend to roam more at night than during the day when they're also out of our supervision while we sleep.
