The painting is an abstraction of the northern coastline of the city of Brebes. A Google Map image capture shows that the north of the coast remains unchanged from previous years. However, in the next few years, we will not know whether the north coast will still be able to fish from small boats or turn into a large dock carrying raw materials from the many factories that have mushroomed in the city of Brebes. Hopefully, this work as a northern line marker is still acceptable.

Arief Mujahidin was born and raised in Brebes, found inspiration during his studies in Solo and while working in Jakarta. Returning to Brebes, his art reflects personal daily experiences.
