Yusdastra

1995

I am Yusdastra and I am from Yogyakarta, where the vibrant art scene inspires my work. Influenced by comics from Junji Ito, Charles Burn, and Suehiro Maruo. Art enriches my life by enabling community engagement. I develop my skills by expanding my knowledge of art and materials and have collaborated with musicians as a visual artist. My dream project is a solo exhibition showcasing various media. Critics describe my work as provocatively playful, often reflecting themes of violence and self-reflection. I aim to blend Indonesian traditional art with my cultural experiences and enjoy experimenting with different media. I appreciate the role of galleries in promoting art projects and believe that consistency is key to overcoming challenges. My favorite quote comes from S. Sudjojono: “Jiwa Ketok,” expressing my artistic aspirations.
