Interview with Tebejournal

Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I am from Tangerang, and my origin has a significant influence on my work because continuous practice has improved my skills.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?
My biggest artistic influences are Mark Ryden.
How do you define success as an artist?
Success is different for everyone, but for me personally, success in art is when I can continue to produce new works, and my works are known throughout the world and collected by many people.
How do you develop your art skills?
I develop my skills simply by continually honing them and practicing.
Describe your dream project.
My dream project is a solo exhibition abroad.
What is the main inspiration behind your latest artwork?
The inspiration for my latest artwork comes from my surroundings, particularly my wife and my beloved cat.
Is there a specific theme or message that you want to convey through your artwork?
The theme I want to convey is love and caring for the living creatures around you.
How would you describe your creative process? Is there a special technique or medium that you use?
My creative process often begins with inspiration that comes instantly. I either sketch on paper or use an iPad. After that, I transfer the rough sketch onto the canvas, and I continue to refine it. Sometimes, interesting ideas emerge during this process. I primarily use oil paint as my medium because I enjoy it.
How do you overcome challenges in creating art?
I overcome challenges by committing to my art practice and setting aside dedicated time for it.
As an artist, what is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is, "Slow progress is better than none at all."
