Tri Pandrong

1979

I am Tri Pandrong and I live in Yogyakarta. My experiences from coastal sunsets to mountain sunrises influence my art, which is inspired by Van Gogh, Heri Dono, Ugo Untoro, and Nasirun. I define success as spreading goodness through my work. After exploring photography from 2009 to 2017, I now focus on interactive pieces that engage viewers, revealing surprises under UV light. Critics describe my art as vibrant and colorful, appealing to diverse audiences. I use barcodes and QR codes to link to music, enhancing the experience. Since 2005, I have employed a unique technique I call “untechnique,” inspired by computer effects. Although I haven't collaborated with others yet, I value opportunities for exhibitions that expand my reach. My creative process involves contemplation, and my favorite quote is: “There is what is seen and what is felt.”

Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I was born in Blora, grew up in Rembang and Salatiga, and have been living in Yogyakarta since 1998. These experiences have created a variety of colors that I incorporate into my work.
