Interview with Ruslan Lysakov

Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I’m from Sevastopol, a city by the sea with a relatively free mindset compared to the rest of Russia. The environment greatly influences my work and perspective on life.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?
Salvador Dali for his wild creativity, Picasso for his bravery as a maestro, and Modigliani for his sensitivity as an artist.
How do you define success as an artist?
I define success when people begin to copy my paintings, and my ideas and techniques are widely discussed.
How do you develop your art skills?
By attending workshops, visiting art galleries, and continuously practicing.
Describe your dream project.
I dream of collaborating with villa designers, artists, and businesspeople to co-create stunning works.
What is the main inspiration behind your latest artwork?
AI technology inspires me by generating creative ideas.
Is there a specific theme or message that you want to convey through your artwork?
I want to remind viewers not to underestimate the importance of time, rules, and norms in life. We must respect these to avoid future regrets.
How would you describe your creative process? Is there a special technique or medium that you use?
My process starts with experience and observation, then I translate those insights into painting. I typically use traditional media with impressionist techniques.
How do you overcome challenges in creating art?
I continue creating consistently, seeking new innovations, and adapting to current and future art developments.
As an artist, what is your favorite quote?
"It is better to create and regret than not to create and regret."
