Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I was born in Padang City, where I began exploring creativity in fine arts and theater. Moving to Cianjur in 2013 exposed me to a new culture and traditions, which greatly influenced my works, such as Buka Tirai Tampak Dinding, inspired by my observations of the local environment.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?
My recent works have been influenced by artists like Anselm Kiefer and Mark Bradford.
How do you develop your art skills?
I continually evolve by adapting to my environment, simplifying complex concepts, and experimenting with textures and traditional techniques.
What is the main inspiration behind your latest artwork?
I draw inspiration from wall textures, paper collages, and the artistic possibilities they present. These elements reflect my fascination with responding to forms and textures in two-dimensional art.
Is there a specific theme or message that you want to convey through your artwork?
Through my playful approach, I aim to highlight simplicity and the beauty of forms and textures, steering away from overly complex concepts.
