Lion Wijayakusuma

1991

My name is Lion Wijayakusuma, an art enthusiast who began painting at a young age. I express myself through themes of emotion and entertainment, as seen in my work "Janger," which reflects a woman's emotional dance. I often start with dark colors, layering them with vibrant hues to symbolize my journey from darkness to light. Listening to music while I paint helps me process my experiences. My art includes flowers that represent someone special, emerging from a spontaneous creative flow using acrylics, watercolors, and markers. Motorcycle riding also serves as an escape for me, particularly after spending six years in a correctional institution, which profoundly influenced my perspective on life and art.
