Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
Hello, I'm Kadeboyz, a street artist from South Tangerang. I usually create art on the streets, on canvas, and digitally.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?
I was inspired to become an artist by a website in 2004 called tembokbomber.com. There, I discovered many amazing graffiti artists such as Darbotz, The Popo, Koma, The Yellow Dino, and Wormo, who are some of my favorites.
How do you define success as an artist?
In my opinion, an artist is successful when they have found their own identity in their work, and that identity is appreciated by a wider audience.
How do you develop your art skills?
I develop my skills by continually meeting new people and staying sensitive to my surroundings.
Describe your dream project.
My dream project is to create a piece as large as a multi-store building.
What is the main inspiration behind your latest artwork?
My latest work is inspired by the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy life.
Is there a specific theme or message that you want to convey through your artwork?
The message I aim to convey in all my work is to stay true to yourself, even when others don’t seem to care.
How would you describe your creative process? Is there a special technique or medium that you use?
My creative process starts with rough sketches, followed by basic coloring, and then I execute the work directly onto the chosen medium.
How do you overcome challenges in creating art?
I overcome challenges by keeping an open mind and being receptive to criticism.
As an artist, what is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is: "People who create must start with love. With love, anything can happen, anything can be achieved." —Drs. Suyadi (Pak Raden).
