This illustration work is a tribute or honor to my ancestor, Arya Kubon Tubuh. In ancient times, Arya Kubon Tubuh was a servant of the Dalem (royalty). At one point he was tasked with going to Blambangan, East Java, to eliminate a troubling black tiger or panther that was causing distress to the Blambangan residents. He was given a weapon made of bamboo called a "tulup" to kill the tiger. Long story short, he successfully carried out his mission and returned to Bali with the head of the black tiger. In this artwork, I include a prayer dedicated to Arya Kubon Tubuh and Sang Maung Ireng, a line of prayer taken from Puja Tri Sandhya
