Ferdian RF, a Yogyakarta-based artist from Pacitan, East Java, has been active in the art scene since 2014. His work features three characters: The first is IYAH, inspired by a rock face on a Gunung Kidul beach, embodies gentleness and motivation. The second is SONO, based on Kamen Rider Ryuki, is a quiet, mysterious figure with a cobra-like cloak. The third is KUN LUN, drawn from WALL-E, has balloon wings and emoji-like eyes, representing advanced thinking. These characters bring depth to Ferdian's themes of love, nature, and life, making his art a blend of imagination and storytelling.

Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I am from Pacitan, East Java. It has significantly influenced this field of work in my life.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?
My friends, especially fellow artists from my university days.
How do you define success as an artist?
Success is when everything in my heart is expressed on the canvas.
How do you develop your art skills?
By observing movements and developments around us.
Describe your dream project.
My dream is to hold a solo exhibition in a gallery.
What is the main inspiration behind your latest artwork?
It is inspired by the journey I have been through.
Is there a specific theme or message that you want to convey through your artwork?
The message is for self-reflection as a human being.
How would you describe your creative process? Is there a special technique or medium that you use?
I usually capture an idea or story first, then execute it on the canvas. The technique depends on what feels right during the process.
How do you overcome challenges in creating art?
Economic challenges are significant for artists, but they teach us the value of gratitude and drive us to keep generating new ideas.
