Hidden Gems in the Art World

Art movements have always reflected their times, evolving as reactions or improvements to those that came before. While classical and modern art movements were widely recognized, many lesser-known movements remained on the fringes, overshadowed by more dominant styles. These marginalized movements, referred to as "underrated art movements", held significant value and relevance even in today’s art world.
LucyDream Art (LDA) highlighted these hidden gems, acknowledging contemporary audiences' growing curiosity and appreciation for these movements.
To achieve this, LDA hosted a seminar to reintroduce and explore underrated art movements in depth at La Cabana Dijiwa Villa on December 20th, 2023. The event featured presentations by I Gede Jaya Putra, a lecturer at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Bali, and I Wayan Gede Budayana, a lecturer at the Design and Business Institute, Bali.
From the 12 art movements LDA included in its Unique Value Proposition (UVP), the speakers highlighted four: Cubism, Dadaism, Fauvism, and Minimalism. The discussions followed a timeline, covering the history, defining characteristics, and current market relevance of these movements. The seminar also featured a workshop where participants created artwork inspired by these styles. The completed pieces became part of LDA’s exclusive collection, further emphasizing its dedication to supporting creativity and innovation.
LDA sparked renewed interest and dialogue by bridging the gap between forgotten art movements and today’s audiences. The seminar provided a space for artists, enthusiasts, and collectors to connect with these movements, fostering appreciation for their historical and cultural significance. As LDA carried out its mission, it invited art lovers to join the journey of rediscovering the beauty and relevance of these hidden gems in the art world.
